you say you put a pipe to a cold air box, what kind of pipe is it? possibly it's just collapsing, unless it's a metal pipe?

2.5" to 3" silicone --> Aluminum 3" 45degree bend pipe --> 3" to 2.5" silicone --> 2.5" mild steel straight pipe --> 2.5" to 3" silicone --> airbox and pod filter

i got a fat earth going from the battery in the boot straight 2 the gearbox, neva had this problem, the line to my map sensor came unpluged once and the car woud just die on boost, ran sweet up 2 0 psi but once u went past that it lost all power, check ya line coming from the intake to the map sensor, should b on the right of ya intake
the faster u go, the quicker u get there

If you have a good earth to chassie and a good earth for chassie to engine thenn you shouldnt need to. And try check the codes again, just make sure you have the paper clip in there goodly. Dont remove the gunk thats in there. It stops the plug from rusting up.

Took the car to Joes mechanical off Hendo valley. Nice nice guy!! I would recommend him to my mother!

neither of us could find the map sensor!! Where is it located exactly?

He reckons its either an ECU short, OR my MAP sensor is flooded with oil. Im going to earth "T1" at the ECU itself to see if it will diagnose because his scanner wouldnt communicate with the ECU.. just jumping on the net now to grab a wiring diagram of the gze ecu

I had a friend with an AE101 Marino 20V, that stuffed the ecu. Does exactly as you discribe. Its most likley to old to work with a scan tool. My MR2 doesnt work with the old mans Snap on one. And the MAP should be on the firewall and called vacume array sensor or manifold pressue assembly possibly.
