taillight blown, dash indicator

Postby AE82 FXGT » Sat Aug 18, 2007 5:02 pm

There's a light on my gauge cluster that keeps coming on, it's that one which shows the top of the car with lines coming out the back.

Which usually means that a bulb is blown, but none of them are.

I've checked all the rear lights when that light comes on and all of them are fine, is there something else that light stands for?

It's been working fine untill I put some trueno taillights (Cars a Levin) and my momo wheel in (not sure if that makes a difference but I know some cars run horn and lights through same fuse).

Thoughts?

Have a check on the contacts of the bulb, in my GT4 sometimes that light would come on (my bulb was out tho) and id hit the light and it would come on. Could be a bad connection triggering the dash light. Have you checked the plate lights as well??

Yet to check the plate lights, that could be the problem.
The contacts seemed pretty clean when I was hooking everything up, no corrosion or anything.

They Should. That is nothing electrical, that depends on whether you have the notches at the back of the boss kit lined up with the ones on the steering column ...

That light flashes up on my AE82 FXGT when I brake. It's because of my high stop lamps, due to it being imported later than 1990 (or whenever they became compulsory).

I've had at least two other AE82s which the tail light indicator in the dash remained on the entire time. Not sure why though.
