Car Alarm Remotes

Postby HZRDIZ » Fri Aug 31, 2007 2:54 pm

Well last weekend my car alrm remote shat itself. Went to replace the battery and i think Mr Mint broke it even more as everything is rattling round inside now.

So my question is - can i just buy a universal remote or remote of any brand and program it to my car alarm??

If so how do i program it to work with my alarm??

My alarm is a steal shield if that helps.

Thanks

Go see whoever sells/installs them. They should be able to order you a new one and then it just gets programmed into your existing system(takes 30 sec).

Had this happen last year when my Mongoose one shat itself.

as above,

and most are particluar to the brand, so you will need to get a remote the same brand as your alarm.
