S/C MR2 won't start....

Postby FST4RD » Wed Sep 12, 2007 10:38 pm

Got a 4AGZE '89 AW11, brand new solanoid and the starter motor is fine but won't kick over. Will however crash start and the battery is fine.
My mate reckons it's the same problem he had with his s/c'd levin, there's not enough power going to the solanoid. He fixed his by bypassing it with a relay that takes power straight from the battery to the solanoid with the ignition turning on the relay.

Anyone else got any other ideas?
plus can anyone discribe where exactly the solanoid wire comes out the loom?

How do you know the batt is fine? Unless it's brand new, or you've done a load test, that would be my bet.

You were right! Alsorted now....

Only thing is that the brandnew battery has dies a terrible death, left it on the battery charger all night and unplugged it and checked it with a multi meter and you could oly watch the volts drop off and really quick
