the main problem with that comparison is the coupla hundred KG difference in weight of the 2 cars!

i myself have seen him racing at pukekohe at least 4 times ^^ so no its not just a street car

So you think something like a S2000 (F20C) motor in a AE86 is gay?

I cant really see the point in doing that type of conversion, both fairly similar cars to start off (light weight small 2 door FWDs). Nothing too exiting in my eyes. If I was going to blow that amount of coin I dont think it would be a type r engine in a AE111  My 2C anyway.

YUP 'SPECIALLY IN A '86. AND ESPECIALLY WHEN TOYOTA MAKE SO MANY EXCELLENT ENGINES THAT WOULD BE JUST AS GOOD A CONVERSION. eg beams 3S, 1JZ, 20v and double especilaay when its not just then engine that has to be changed the box and diff do also for a F20C conversion thus making it more honda than toyota which is the ultimate sacroulage (spelling) IMO.

the exception to the cross breeding rule is rotarys in old cars eg ke30 old lancer Dx etc.

What a crock of shit, none of those engine come close to the F20C (Maybe the JZ but that'd be way too much weight over the front axles) and why would the box and diff have to be changed for that compared to any of those conversions you suggested (except for maybe the gutless 20V)?

And this is much better case of sacrilege

Ive always wanted to slap a *VTAK into a corolla, the best of both worlds, and the worst from all.

Too bad the guys modelled it on an Mitsi...

after reading the post, don't know why most toyota owner don't like honda....maybe just same as EVO owner don't like WRX????

what I can say is:
1/the car go much quicker before when it got the blacktop.
2/not too expensive to do the engine swap, everything almost bolt on.
3/AE111 chassic seen lighter than DC2R

All I can say is the project is special, when I first heard it I think that's quite stupid and strange, but the outcome is much better than what you guys think.

i think the main reason alot of people dont like hondas is because of the drivers - big generalisation but they often seem to attract the kind of people that think no springs, 18" chrome wheels, some type R stickers and a 1.5 sohc engine make their car something special.

actually i think honda make some great cars, particularly in type R guise, and their NA engines have always been a step ahead of toyotas imo.

Assuming a lot of people don't like a type of car because of a type of people that like them, which crowd would be the idiots?
Honda engines are awesome.

Who likes to be associated with idiots? Not saying that Honda owners are idiots of course, but as per usual the minority ruin the image for the rest.

THAT is awesome! That'd be so much fun to drive :D I'd probably say "whats the point" if Toyota had a parallel, but basically that looks like something begging to have an angry NA 4cyl in it and with the hood down and giving it the beans, you wouldn't be complaining who made it...
