Price Check (AE111 BZR)

Postby CrAiG » Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:37 pm

Hey guys

I'm after 'what do you think it's worth' opinions on the following car

-AE111 Toyota Levin/Trueno
-BZR
-4AGE
-6 Speed LSD
-Around 100-120kms

I'm looking to get back into these cars after a spell in a 97 Toyota Prado, some of you from south may even remember my previous BZR at the 'car of the year' show a few years back.

But i've been out of the market for a while now so i'm trying to gain some insight into what they're worth.

So thank you in advance.

Also anyone after a 97 Toyota Prado Turbo Diesel PM me.

6.5k for a BZR!! your dreaming, unless it was raped in the buttocks, or it was a bzg with a sticker,
our BZR 2 years ago was 9000 with 70k on the clock, fully stock part from a trick stereo, they hold there value quite well, have look in some car sales mags like go auto a those free ones, you'll get a better idea of its value,

As leon said in another thread, the market for these cars has dropped a lot. I paid 8k for mine 4 years ago, so its not suprising really, prices are dropping all the time

The bottom's fallen out of the used car market completely. Everything these days is down on what it was just a few years ago.

BZR 60k on the clock, six speed, slippery diff, $6k. That's what they fetch these days. Two years ago, was a very different market.

Sub $5 for a non BZR, ask B1 he sold his BZV for under that, and I ditched a BZG for more like $4k.

Car yard pricing is a joke.

AE111 trueno ae111 BZR

Body: Metallic blue, 2 door, Coupe
Fuel type: Petrol
Engine: 4 cylinder, 1600cc, Automatic
Stereo description: Panasonic 50w x4, 1 year old

Features:
ABS brakes
Air conditioning
Alloy wheels
Central locking

Reluctant sale. Owned the car 3 years and have not had any trouble with it, apart from a scrape on the front and rear bumper where I've been hit while parked.

The car has a bore exhaust and apexi racing filter apart from that is in good running order and has no other modifications apart from the avanti aztec hyper x mags and munroe suspension as a replacement to super strut.

another one

BZR did actually came in auto. There is this mis-conception that a BZR only came in 6 speed. in fact it came in auto too. You would also find a facelift BZG in 6 speed.

the difference between a facelift BZG and BZR is BZG have no LSD, no super-strut, and came in steel rims.

In pre-facelift, most BZG came in super-strut and BZV all had LSD and superstrut. So there is a difference.

But the thing i am unsure is whether the AUTO bzr is open diff or also have a LSD, but I doubt it.

Personally, after spending mega big bucks on my suspension, if you are planning to mod the car, just buy a facelift BZG wiith 6 speed. Less expensive for suspension, and also once you put a body kit and change tims, you can't tell the difference.

Aftermarket super strut is just crazy expensive, and not a lot of choices too, only TRD, Tein, KYB, Koni and Arogasta makes them. You can get TRD and Tein in NZ, but the damper adjust KYB, Koni and Arogasata you need to find a mate in Japan. But if it was non-superstrut, you have a LOT more option, like cusco, D2, tein, etc etc and the list goes on.
