HONDA vs TOYOTA DRAG DAY - STAY TUNED!

Postby EVLTEK » Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:38 pm

Am in talks with Champion Dragway about some dates and costs (holy hell are they high) to run the famous event once again!!! Don't have any firm details yet but just putting it out there for everyone so they can expect it on the calender sometime this summer. Most likely to be early next year.

here is the NZH link if you want to talk some smack :)

With a lot of the honda community heading towards track racing this could be a good opportunity for you Toyota boys to take one back.. The score is 2-0 to Honda at the moment!

Stay tuned for updates once some things are firmed up.

white civic - I think the black teg is his mates....

white civic just got new motor built so I think aiming for more then the 390wkw - heres hoping the new tyres help with some traction. think its previous best time was 12.2 at 200k or something dumb like that.

ohh yep, i saw him racing his mates black teg at one stage, had a bit of a chat to him and he told me about his white civic.
The tyres will help heaps!! , I just down graded to some thing skinnier so they fit my guards better lol.

Honda is always going to win the day because Toyota has nothing to compete with in the same class.

Now if the main competition was Turbo 2WD that would be a whole different story...

how are these events scored then? does each win by a honda count for a point? cause i would have though toyota would have the upper hand in 2wd and 4wd turbo... though, i guess theres a few quick turbo hondas out there too.

We split up all the cars into classes - as evenly as possible. like night speed the first part of the day is just racing - grudge/practice - call it what you will - then the scoring is done in the elimination rounds - where one point is scored for whichever make wins each race in the eliminations.

I doubt mine will be to any standard suitable for drag racing however I'd be very keen to come up - I'm sure a number of other people down here would be keen on the roadtrip - go up via New Plymouth! Good roads I hear?

You can roll the KP, be careful though the power might throw you.

Count me in!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
