question to all auto caldina owners

Hi everyone, I fairly recently got my first car, a black Caldina 2.0G. It is an auto which i am the second NZ owner of.

My question is in regards to two buttons, down by the gearstick. When pushed, one displays ECT PWR (or POW) on the dash and the other ECT MANU. The first one i assume has something to do with power, but i would like to know if anyone out there actually knows what is happening when either one of these buttons is pushed.

Any info is hugely appreciated

would also like to know as i have these switches aswell.

as far as i know the PWR switch lets my auto carry through to about 7800RPM (silvertop 4AGE) abit like a HOLD button in other cars, it holds the gear longer,

cant figure out what MANU does tho.

Not trying to be a c**t, but if you search for manu, the first one it comes up with is this one, and right underneath it is the other one.

All it does is drive more like a manual, there is more info in there if you want to have a read.

i actually found the manual button makes it shift lower in the rpm and requires more effort/throttle position to get it to kick down

the power button is the opposite, kicks down easily and revs higher.

manual is suitable for open road cruising, as it doesnt kick down on slight hills, therefor ekeeping it in higher gears and helps economy a bit. just remember to take it off when you overtake or you may find you get caught short.

Cheers people, thats all good to know. Yeah i did notice that with power it tends to rev higher before shifting and when i pushed manual it seemed to drop the revs when cruising.
