EOI: Summertime Cruise ACTION!!!!

Postby Snoozin » Tue Oct 23, 2007 12:21 pm

Ok ok ok ok....

So, sounds like all you monkeys dug the MM cruise, so... I have this idea thing, that we should all like, go for a cruise sometime mid summer.

So - I propose a mid January date, of the weekend beginning 19th January. That way, we all know about it long in advance, the Christmas/New Years rush has been and gone, the weather should be mackin' and we should all hopefully have mean cars up and running by that time (providing the Honda doesn't die).

I reckon Castlepoint would be a good option - nice roads out there, possibility of mapping a backroads type route to Masterton perhaps? And Welly/Mstn folk could also get in on the action, and we could make a decent day of it, BBQ, beach cricket/bullrush and what have you? Maybe even book some cabins and stay over, have some drinks, talk shit all night?

So yeah... really wanna hear thoughts and suggestions before I go making any plans!

Cheers boes!

The idea of cabins scares me after seeing how sh*t they were at the Feilding Holiday Park...

That's Feilding though. Guess we could always do tents, after all it is gonna be summer (or so they tell me?). I'm just keen for a camping type mission!

BBQ's, beers, making fires, frashing cars, talking shit, cracking onto/LOL'ing at Benson. Would be so ftw!

Just set a date and I'll get those nights off work :D

either start a new topic, or edit your first post
at the very bottom of the screen is the poll options (scroll!)

one tip, you need to hit the "add option" button after every option for it to show, even the last one you enter. i always cock that up!

It would appear I can't add a poll to a post in this section... or I am just crap at the internet. Either way....

I have one weekend free in January, (like Shel said, it's f**king wedding season/lots of free booze/staying in same bach as bridesmaids ftw) so I figured a couple of early Feb options might also make sense, as it should still be warm, and in theory there should be less people around. People = snotty little shitbag kids on holiday, for the most part.

So.

Dates, if some moderator type can magically add these as a poll to the top it would be mega. That's like, better than kilo. But not as good as giga. Or so I hear.

January 19th - 20th
February 2nd - 3rd
February 9th - 10th

Masses.... it's your chance to SPEAK!!!

Maybe chuck a copy of this into Welly section also?

Ditto. As Warwick says, 19 Jan is A1GP meeting weekend.

Could be good to meet in the Wairararararararapa or meet in P North and head over saddle road or something. Lunch in Masterton, circular route to Castlepoint via Lake Ferry / South Wararapa (empty roads), through Martinborough.

Probably wouldn't stay over in Castlepoint though, it's just easier to head home same day, saves on having to arrange accommodation, find people to feed the cats etc.

Word of warning, Castlepoint can have some of the most savage wind I have ever seen, so bring a very strong tent, and 400 pegs.
