Fortyone Automotive Trackday results

Fastest Overall (TS members only)

JIZRAG - Tony. Bloody massive result, especially as he only finished rebuilding the motor Friday night! Wouldnt only have gotten faster if the intercooler pipe didnt keep popping off. Never underestimate a little dark green EP82 ;)

Slowest Overall

Pelo - Chris. Unfortunately due to his SC AW11 not being ready in time, he had to bring the fearsome EE90 of doom. Even with the fearsome 2E pounding out at least 35hp, he wasnt quite up with the pace of the Supras. Or turbo 4AGEs. Or much else really  But definately gave 100% all day, lifting a rear tyre around most corners and not leaving it on the ground much during the motorkhana!

Muddiest Car

The_Sorrow - Andrew. This was Andrew's first ever time on a track, and a S/C AW11 is a pretty worthy steed to be doing it in. Unfortunately I think he got confused and thought we were doing a grasskhana at points  leaving the poor wee AW well coated in mud!

Best impression of a helicopter

DSCRET - Jason. With plenty of power and brakes and Subaru's 4WD system he really carved the track. As well as the outfield when the 4WD system couldnt quite keep him in line  Made for some very spectacular exits anyway!

Dedication award

Blackmk3 - Nick. Busted a gear on Friday evening, drove back to Taupo to collect a spare and fitted it Saturday evening. Thats what these weekends are all about, total dedication 8)

Bigfoot award

2jayzgte - Coryn. 255/40/17's up front, 285's rear....left more of an impression than a gang of Sasquatches

Best Soundtrack

Russell - KE25. Running a angry angry 2T, this thing sounded like armageddon coming, and kept up with the turbo Hondas with ease.

Fastest in group

Group 1

Nick - Turbo Integra Type R. Amazingly held his own in the fastest group out there, 3 Supras with a collective 1300+hp, as well as a 500hp Civic.

Group 2

PRYMAL - Clint. Fresh from being tuned at Speedtech and armed with a set of semi slicks, he managed to fend off a bunch of 4AGTE toting beasties and another impressively large turbo'd GT Four.

Group 3

DSCRET - Jason. Even with trying to do a bit of rally occasionally, still brought his STi RA in ahead of some far more experienced (albeit it with about 1/2 the power) drivers.

Group 4

JIZRAG - Tony. Nuff said :D

Group 5

Blackmk3 - Nick. The replacement box obviously held up, even with some pretty solid punishment at the motorkhana. Sounded pretty impressive with some revlimiter hitting and other pops and bangs. Also gets bragging rights for beating all the other Supras in his group

Group 6

paulchinery - Paul. With a dyno proven 95kw in his AE101, Paul drove this thing to the absolute limit, and then some. With some decent suspension he'd lay down some respectable lap times.

[Santa Edit: Paul has since changed his username to a fitting Affroman]

Motorkhana

Fastest Overall

NILPSI - Sam. First time doing any sort of event like this, he proved to be a natural at it. As well as spectacularly frying tyres at most turns :D

2nd place

TWSTD - Al. Showing that sponsors do get out there and do it, he set a cracking pace with literally a 3rd the capacity of Sam's car, staying less than a second behind in each event.

3rd place

o0hoerolla0o - Matt. Another first timer, with a car also completed the week of the event! Great effort getting the twin muffler'd, twin fusebox'd beast into 3rd overall.

one thing me and Paul were discussing last night - when you dyno'd it, were you running 98 or 95 octane?
Pauls was on 95 and he thinks thats why you beat him :P

I didnt realise how the sprints were being timed, I asked a few guys prior but nobody seemed know. I didnt actually find out till the end of the day.
A few others said the same thing also. Probably would of found the lap times would of been a bit quicker and the results would of been alot differant.

no complaints or anything, I still had fun :P

hmm all this bollocks about not knowing they were being timed for the 3 laps, surely if ur out on the track your going balls out the whole time not pussyfooting around for 2 out of 3 laps.

hmmm 1:17, thats moving !

they wernt aware it was a combined time of all three laps
so some ppl didnt go hard for all consecutive laps

but, thats not really the point
