Postby TRD_ZERO » Thu Nov 08, 2007 7:27 pm

Well i was just wondering what is wasted spark? What are their benefits from running over a dizzy if any? Do you need an aftermarket comp to run one if so what else is needed to convert drom dizzy to wasted spark on a 20v. Thanks just curious as it seems interesting.

Wouldn't even bother, need a new ecu (unless your very electronicly minded) and you'll get pretty much no benefits other than not having to replace your rotor and cap any more.

wasted spark fires two cylinders at once, or two cylinders on the same crank plain. One cylinder is on comp/power and the other exh/inlet.

so for a 4 cylinder it will be 1-4 and 2-3, on a 6 cylinder (inline) 1-6, 2-5, 3-4. Because two coils are doing the work compared to one on a dist setup, the main advantage would be dwell time.
