w56 boxes

interested to know if you can swap the tail housing and shifter position from a sedan style w55 box to a previa people mover style remote w56 box? reason being to change the remote shifter position to suit a sedan application etc etc.

also i know there is a dfference between steel centre(sandwhich) plate and alloy centre (sandwhich) box bearing sizes, but whichg bearings are different?

any help/info on this would be sweet. cheers aaron.

I have a w56 out of a 80s diesel corona think it was a 1C engine with shifter in the normal sedan position, so i don't see why you couldn't swap them
