royal purple oils

Postby jaypines » Mon Nov 19, 2007 10:22 pm

Have anyone here tried to use some of these on their engines? Currently using Motul stuffs but results from here are a bit of a surprise! Have seen some articles for Royal Purple but most are related to TV Ad and network marketing etc etc..

My biggest issue with this test is that they did it at room temperature. They needed to heat it up to 120'C to see what really was going on. The results might of been completely different under those conditions.

The test procedures are incorrect and only really test film strength not wear properties. Might be an ok test if you were looking to buy a grease, but essentially useless for selecting an engine oil

Thought that test looked familiar, it's been posted on a local forum before.

don't think much of the test procedure. if you took the cheapest, nastiest, highst viscosity oil you could get your hands on it will probably excell in this test.
meh.....
