coz he did

I launched it at every conceivable rev level, tried different boost levels, tires, fuel and even went as far as to remove my front bumper and half the interior trim. 12.6.

I would like to see his time slip if that all the car really has done to it

$400 for a blanket will be I suspect rather less than the day drag racing cost you after, considering the repair bill for rebuilt things having raped the shit out of your car

Another thing to bear in mind, is that some cars come into the country fiddled and thus go faster than they ought, while other cars come into the country having not been looked after, and thus go slower than they ought.

i have heard of a couple of other early evos that have pulled 11.99999's on similar mods and know of many other evos that do 12.1-12.3 consistently.
while 11's on such basic mods is the exception it is definately possible. some engines just go better than others for no known reason.
other things will affect it too like if the clutch is partially worn just enough to soak up all wheelspin, allowing near perfect 60ft's. a friends evo2 actually got slower by adding a twinplate clutch as he found the wheels spun a lot more off the line than they used to.

Cough cough.. Bullshit... Cough cough. Mate, your car has more than those mods to get into the 11's, I had an EVO 2 RS with an exhaust system, intake and boost controller when I was a kid and the fastest it ran was a 12.6 at the maximum boost the factory turbo could provide.

I bought the car with only an air filter and had battery moved to the boot. Had the puny standard exhaust.
I added a 3" exhaust with 3" dump pipe. 3" intake pipe from AFM to turbo.
2nd hand turbosmart boost controller.

running 19psi on 17's with 20psi pressure, with KYB shocks. 1.6 sec 60ft, 11.99 @ 110mph
And then consistent flat 12's after that.

Also the car was completely stripped out, still had sound deadening, half a tank of 98.
Also has a chipped ECU, that removes the cuts, thats all.

Cool man, I wasn’t trying to have a go.. Mine wouldn’t run boost that high as it wasn’t getting enough fuel?? A simple chip would have had it running low 12’s high 11’s easy.

Drag racing is not all about power, its about how your car uses this power and chucks it to the ground, having a good suspension/tyre/clutch/gearbox package is key once you have a car running 11's or else some of the power may be going to waste.
