instead of crushing them, why dont they just send them down the auction, and put the money towards something keeping the repeat offenders in jail, rather than my $&#$% taxes going towards it
Nothing to see here ...

yeah, except it shouldn't be on engine size for the same reason you mentioned about the bikes... it should be output or power to weight limited. Maybe make it so every car should be dyno'd at warrant time... would stop people claiming that they have 50 million HP when clearly they dont too :)

Im also of the belief that the prodrive type skid control courses should be compulsary.

Havent seen too many Evos as work cars, but V8s, yeah... thats what licience exemptions are for, kinda like the kids on restricted licience that work morning/night shift at mcDs (are meant to ) get.

Don't know if you have seen the restricted driving courses lately but now they contain a compulsary practical element as well.

I think in Aussie they have the power to weight ratio thing going on as well.

But also restricting the cc rating as well until a certain age and licence will stop young inexperienced drivers from getting behind the wheel of something to powerful for them. If 1600cc is to much then why not make it 1300cc till you have your full licence?

You guys are missing the point - the 600cc car will get to speed where you could kill some one and your self. Actually you need about 30km/h to do that anyway, and it is possible to achieve that with car with no engine (just push it down the hill). Power/size restrictions do jack all. What about kids borrowing parents vehicle? Or they buying them on some one else's name? Law does not stop them from driving the car with cut springs and other unsafe modification, does it? It is the same for drug abusers, the law will never stop them. Education will.

That might be true, but could you just see you the back of any city a whole heap of teenagers in 600cc cars in illegal drags or burn outs? Not going to happen.

Actually very likely to happen ;). Boys will race anything, even pedal cars, no matter how pathetic it looks. 600cc is all relative, if every one has 600cc then, it most like will create opportunity to race.

But you have to admit it's a start. I think bring in that law plus compulsary defensive driving courses and a 3 strike rule and that mihgt deter some people.

Sounds like what happens in Ontario, Canada. Except they don't actually need you to break the law...if they think you are gonna race on the street they will take em and crush em.

Kinda odd from the province that had the intelligence to reject MMP recently.

Because someone then buys it for half of what its really worth, so another numnut can cause more mayhem in it. And, would you really want to be driving around in say, a car that used to be owned by say, a gang member or the like.

You get the bash and he gets his car back again.
