no head lights!!

fudge!! i finish work tonight and start the car, turn on the head lights nothing!!!

park lights are ok,
gauge cluster has the high beam light constantly on even though the high beans are not "on" this is when the switch is in the head light position.
i can flick the stick and the high beams come on ok.
bulbs are ok
fuse's are ok
its dark in the girls friends garage, trying to find whats wrong but cant find anything. what the hell!! has any one had this problem before?

any help would be great,

It will be the connection at the base of the steering column. It will be melted/corroded.

Toyota's are fused left and right not high and low.

matt are you talking about the connector thats bolted to the steering column with all green wires?
