Ive got Potenza's (G3's) on the back of the MR2. 225/50/15. I find they do very well in controlling the back end of it .

Dont know the cost tho, car had 'em when i got it. I just put them onto my RP01s.

G3's are being phased out with the intro of the Adrenalins so no joy there either.

They are my current pick, last better than the Direzza's with less noise too. Good tyre. 8)

Just on a side note if you have a car with any sought of performance spend a little more as where the rubber meets the road I think is quite important.I understand people have budgets but don't skimp when it comes to something as important as tyres.

I ran GSD-3s on my FC RX7 and Direzzas on my AW11 MR2, but I have just had to spend $1400 on a mechanics bill and now I have to buy two new shocks and I need a wof asap and I need 4 new Tyres for wof. Was hoping I could get by on some cheapies and then get some proper ones when I had the $$ spare.

For a wof it doesn't matter what brand tyre you have on your car, as long as they have a decent amount of tread and aren't snow tyres. It's up to you to remember that if you put a cheaper set of tyres on, you can't expect them to perform as good as a more expensive set (in 99.9% of cases). Just buy the cheapest set of tyres you can find, like Triangle or Clear, yeah they're shit, but it will get you a wof and keep you mobile, plus, when you want to change them, they smoke up good, and stink like fish :P

space savers smoke up better than a lot of tyres if thats what you are into... they don't last long though, they tend to melt fairly quickly.

Ive just put the new(ish) Kumho KU-31s on the altezza. Not had much chance to test them out but they are meant to be a well performing silica compound tyre thats reasonably priced. I can provide you these - email me the size you need for a quote :-)

Does it actually have "Ecsta" in the tread like it shows? That would be awesome

*DarkWolf imagines a csi scene*
1: "We know he was driving on Kumho Ecsta tyres."
2: "How do we know that?"
1: "By the big "ecsta" mark on the back of the victim.

LOL

lol Darkwolf!!!

cogent, consider buying a second hand set of rims/tyres off trademe as you could probably pick up a set for the price of some kingstars, then just sell set of rims on trademe when you're finished with them.

saves wasting money on the shizzle that are kingstars

or just tick up a new set of tyres at tonys (but don't let your car out of your sight)
