dodge ram srt10 is up over 500hp with the 8.3L v10.
the fords have some funky engines in their trucks too.

the tundra engine is still cool though, but all that power is wasted in a truck like that.. do you really need it? the weight just blunts the performance and if you need heaps of torque then get a diesel.
even the SRT10 isn't exactly a rocket, although it is impressive for a truck.

must be an american thing

Ford Lightning is 380hp for 2001-2004 the production is finish

Ram SRT10 is 500hp so 2004-2006 it's only one can beat me

Now ford have v10 6.8 push-rod of 425hp in option in the f250 so the truck is weight so heavy that it's take more fuel than forward

Driven any? They aren't exactly slow. A 5.2s for a 0-100 for a car is still fair moving, likewise with a 13 second 1/4

someone i knew had one for a while as they reviewed cars for a tv show.
they found it more useful for carting chicks up and down the main street on a saturday night. they are apparently quick, but not 500hp quick, all that speed is dulled by the sheer weight.

kinda cool in their own way, but like most american cars we get here , kinda like a large penis extension as well.

i'm more impressed by the new generation diesels that are appearing now. BMW's latest 535d with a 3L TT diesel makes 210kw/580nm of torque @1750rpm. now that would be a laugh to drive.
i reckon the tundra engine would be a cool donor for a small car though.

Not unheard of to get 1000hp from those Viper motors, but it involves a fair bit more work than just a chip!
Those SRT10's might weigh as much as a small planet, but they can sure get away in a hurry! A customer of ours had one he'd just converted to RHD, and when he took off it wasn't mucking around.

dodge ram is 2.3 tonnes according to google, and its 8.3L.
I think thats more than enough displacement for the weight for it to move quite rapidly

needs 4wd as well ;) i'd like to see you launch a boat off a beach with a 2wd ute.
do those tundras come 4wd?

don't get me wrong, the bigass utes are cool in a way, and some don't go too badly, it just seems kind of pointless to me really as most of the people who buy those utes won't ever use them properly, as they are too scared to scratch the tray liner by putting stuff in it.
ute to me = wheelbarrow with engine/tractor for towing shit

If ya can't fit half a paddock of hay bales on the back and another half a paddock of bales on a trailer it ain't a ute.

It's maybe a 5.6L V8 Cummins turbo diesel and he talk about 1000lb-ft of torque...

the chip is like boost controler for turbo....and run the engine at higher psi
