At last 10s

Postby audi man » Sun Jan 06, 2008 8:06 pm

Yes we have done it, yesterday was dragmasters v8 v imports' i was in the 10.9 bracket and kick ass all day, with my first run i ran a 10.9 wheel spinning up to half track that with using the trans brake and leaving the line at about 9000rpm and 20psi boost not a good thing as i found out, the rest of my runs i had to back off all the time to stay under the 10.9 as you can see i did a flat 11sec run at 155kms were on that run i was doing 170kms half track, and in the finals i ran a 10.8, i did not back off enough lol but well happy with the 10.8 and knowing there is a flat 10sec if not a 9 in her.

Well done. Thats the only ghey thing about bracket racing. If your car is quicker than your bracket, the only time you find out how quick, you give away the race.

Yes it ran, not to its full potential though, think fastest it went was 8.5 Didnt sound quite on song when it ran so maybe a few bugs to work out still. Freakin cool looking car though.

there were a couple of imports crackign tens without cages, but they didn't care being a v8 meet

also, there are quite a few cars that could easily run 10's, ie 3 supras for instance, because at night wars you constantly see them backing off and running 11 flats or 11.1's to stay in the bracket. so was good to watch a couple of them just break through and not get told to go home and get a cage.

A thoroughly enjoyed day I must admit. I didn't race, however my Mum's partners car raced (Southern Rebel, Orange VF Valiant Coupe) with a best time of 10.32 on the day. Won all three of its races.

I'm happy that the competition was a lot closer/even this year not one sided like the previous two. Kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
But still glad the V8's won :P

Na, it looks good as is anyway.
Cleaning it wouldn't do anything anyway. After less than 10 seconds you can't even see it anymore hehehe 8)
