S2000s are common and RX7s aren't? Which part of Dunedin are you in?

Take whichever you want, doesn't really matter what people think about your choice. You're the one who has to drive it.

Find a nice JZA70 :)

jay
i think your s7 is a bit different, since it is non turbo race car cant really go comparing it to other models :D

what supra are you looking
jza70 or 80?

2jz are just the bizness
few lite mods and you will unleasgh the devil with in and you will have most skyline/evo/wrx owners crying
and just cause they look big dont mean they dont handle either

but if it were me i wouldnt pick either

i would get a jzx100 chaser..................wooops i already own one

at the end of the day man just get what you can afford to buy and run and what you will be happy with

y thank you

i would convince try_harder to get one
but i would rather try and keep them a bit more rarer for at least a few more yrs lol

but once youve had a jz engine you never go back

i can personly comment on both cars
s7 rx7 ( mazda speed version could be wrong tho ) was dam qwick handle very very nicley but the fun just wasnt there for me ( please note i was a passenger )
and a dude i know took me for a fang in his jza70 ( 1jzgte ) down the divy in hams one nite and fuk me side ways it would have to be the fastest thing i have ver been in

each to there own tho mate

...hes pointing out the fact that the 2JZ can take a good pillaging (sp) and still wants more without breaking, where as the rotor will pop (its cherry) as soon as you nail it (no pun intended)

a rotary can take an enormiss hiding just as much as any engine. modified engines go more often that any stock engines. on stock its more likely the twins will go befor the engine its its left factory. i have hurd many bad stories about rotarys blowing but at the same time good storied about how well some rotarys have performed and lasted. there is ALOT to take into account. and being as little rotarys around compared to piston engines of course you are going to hear the bad before the good and more often. but the decision has been made now. i could not be convinced to give up the 7. i will post some pics when i have picked it up. hope i dont right it off on the trip

I just outright didnt read any opf the posts in this thread and am just going to comment on the title.

Buy a RX7. If you can afford to run a car as horrible as that to maintain i would. They are a HELL of a lot of fun and worth it if you could afford it.

Granted they are a lot of maintanace, but god are they sexy. *drool*

the main issue im seeing here is the supra guys are just harping on about the 2JZ-GTE and not the supra.
The only real comments on the supra itself i've seen have been along the lines of 'yeah its a fat beached whale that gets off on the idea of food, but it handles better than you would expect'.

just want to point out that when it comes to buying a car, the engine isn't the only thing that matters 8)

if its a weekend/not primary car then the RX7 would be my pick hands down.
However, when i was looking to buy mine, the idea that it might need to be the only car we have to drive for periods of time had me considering s2000s, supras, wrxs, evos, s15s etc.

actually theres an idea, have you looked at s15s?

I think you'll find if you read his last post properly that he's actually decided to go with the RX7 and has already bought one or is just about to.
