as long as it is a 4agze block which is turboed and not a block with stock n/a internals, it will handle boost fine.

petrol consumption would depend on how you drive

theres alot to consider over and above the engine itself though - how much power is it making, what gearbox and diff is it running, ecu, how has it been driven in the past, etc etc... lot of variables.

people do have alot of success with turbo 4agzes though.

I'd be looking at the body before any thing else, even mine has quite a bit of rust that I couldn't see before I bought it

yea definately will take how the car has been driven in the past into consideration, i know it has been taken to the track before but the engine threw a rod due to the oil sump or something along those lines and its tuned on a link ecu to 170~kw, but yea the guy said there was a dot of rust in the front left fender, but yea will have to get the car jacked up to have a good look for rust spots

the car has been rebuilt, i have also rung up the rebuilder to ask about it and what has been done, and the condition of the car etc

but yea ive heard petrol consumption is really bad even when driving the car like a nana! just wanted to know what others were doing on there 4agze

a 4agte with a link wouldnt be bad if driven nicely, like everything if you give it shit its going to use gas,

i think ih8tec(brendon) got 330km to half a tank on his 4agte (link ecu)

if you are worried about petrol consumption, you are looking at the wrong car. buy a corolla with a 2e or something.

getting 170kw out of a 1.6 takes GAS!

though i doubt its making any kw if it has a leg out of bed 8O

but I bet if you had a race with these two cars the ae86 would win. ive seen a ke35 4agte on about 7psi running a link (probably making around 140 - 160kw) beat an sti with 205kw...

4AGTE should use less gas than your STI no worries if tuned right. Buy the Yellow Trueno on TM at the moment, dunno who owns it now, but tough as nails!

What do you need rear seats for? Planning to ride in the back of your own car?

You couldnt use the rear seats in a 85/86 if you wanted to. Your lucky if you can squish 3 people over 6 foot in a trueno haha.

Also if it has 4ag in the front of its name, its usually pretty bulletproof. They can practically have no oil, and still scream up to the limiter.

As for rust, check the wheel arches, door pillars, along the bottom of the door, boot, boot lid, and around where the tail lights are. Those are the prime "spots". But just look at the condition of the cars body overall.

well i would prefer the rear seats in just in case i do have to carry more than 1 passenger, dont mind how much space is back there for the passengers as i wont be sitting there!

and yep will check those areas for rust, will most probably take it to someone to also have a more thorough check of the car
