i find it laughable that people will pay that much for these. I wouldnt pay more than 2-3g for one.

15k buys a whole lot of car nowadays, you could have a car with with superior balance, power, handling, braking, enjoyment, looks, body, chassis , or all of the above, yet people quite happily shell out for an old 80's corolla .

same deal with old rotarys etc.

It's not what the car can do on the road, but what the car can do to you.

I'd rather own that car there, than any brand new toyota I can think of. Purely because I enjoy them, and they give me some thing other cars don't, even if it's all in my head

i have to agree.

in my job i get to drive all sorts of late model goodness, and the only thing i've gotten my hands on that i would swap for my rusty old 85.6 was a beast of a R33 GTR.

sure the M5's, M3's, Z350's, standard GTRs etc etc are much faster / better handling blah blah than my shitbox, but they just dont do it for me. i buy cars with my heart, not my head :P

any lightweight car with a decent chassis is just as fun to drive.

i like the look of those Fiat Panda 100HP's, 100hp 1.4L engine with 6spd gearbox, unsure if we even get them in NZ but every review i've read rates them as an absolute blast to drive, and i've seen a fuel economy comparison showing it does better mpg than the toyota prius hybrid.

i suppose it depends whether its your brain or groin that choose your cars

The plate AE86 is probably worth more than that car though!

And it is amazingly mint. Even the engine bits, like the intake.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

It'll proabably have next to no rust either bring from cromwell, bloody dry part of the country. Though occasionally that can cause its own problems, like free unexpected sandblasting.

But agree, looks an absolute mint car, maybe not worth 15, but definately over 10
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

Too much to pay for a car because it's fashionable.

I turned down one of those, same colour scheme, same km's, different wheels back in 1998, at (no kidding) $1500. Why? Because it drove like a slow old car. Should have bought and stored it really.

Agreed, back in the Mid 90's we used to buy them for under a grand and thrash them till they died! 8O same with RX2's and 3's..... They were the days when people knew the true value of cars

Nice car..

Definately a car to appreciate - rare to find nice, clean, factory cars

With a very minor panel/paint to get rid of the little shopping trolley dings, a bit of silicon spray and a wipe down in the engine bay my Series 5 would be just as mint if not more. With only 80,000kms.
