Hey guys im looking at buying a 1996 C200 merc, was wondering if these models have cambelts or are chain driven?

Secondly, pretty sure they are a chain. Cant say I've ever seen a cambelt on a late-ish model Merc, though I tend not to pay attention too much to them :lol:

is there anything wrong with merc c200 class??mate just bought one and I think it was ok for daily drive.

nothing specifically wrong with them, just (all imho)

boaty, slow, ugly, and shit to work on!

:)

but comfy enough if you dont mind feeling like an arab sheikh while you are driving round town.

Over a year. Had nothing break. So easy to do oil changes!

Poor quality, expensive parts, electrical problems, interior falling apart (poor quality), disconnected steering feel, disconnected brakes feel, disconnected throttle feel, gutless, thirsty, heavy, expensive to service (if to do it properly), bushes are usually gone, shocks too, that funky steering ball joint galore? - $1200 to replace, fugly, lost keys? no problem - $1000 later it is all going again, but other than that nothing wrong with them, just like another eurotrash.
