when someone rear ended me at the lights in my EE90 (dizzy bitch) the insurance inspectors both gave the car a cursory 10 min inspection and wrote it off. if its not going to be insanely low, i dont think you'll have a problem. the car was totally standard, but what im saying is they didnt go into much detail with it. that being said if its a really nasty one and the police get involved it might be a different story.
at the end of the day, its illegal but yes you can get away with it.
