clutch upgrade

Postby NOLAW » Sun Mar 02, 2008 11:28 am

Im nearing the finish of the drive train on my ke20 and im now left with sorting out what to do with my clutch setup, im running a 4agte<w55 and am going hydraulic setup, how do i go about this?
and with the pedal box is it easyer to modify the standard one or go with something like a supra pedal box, any help is much appreciated.

cheers

do you already have a flywheel on your engine? if not get an aw11 4agze flywheel and clutch setup - they fit straight onto the w55 shaft etc.

but don't think you were asking that... haha

AW MR2 are hydraulic so maybe some of those bits would fit. Not sure about the SW but probably is too.

If your cable pedal box is like mine, it wont have a bracket to take the master cylinder. This means when you press the pedal the firewall will flex and give a little.

What you could do (which is what im planning to do) is to modify the cable box to take the hydrolic cylinder (drilling a hole on the spring return bracket on the clutch pedal), then make a thick aluminium bracket for the master cylinder to attach to. This will reduce firewall flex and give better responce.

But i have been in a car with this conversion without anything to support the mastercylinder and the pedal still felt very good. You could slightly see the firewall flex with fast clutch use, but its worse with a clutch cable setup.

Otherwise a AE86/TE71/AT141 one might bolt in?
