just seems for the kind of money your wanting to spend. a bigger engine will weild the same result with more reliablity. hell why not just bolt a 3sgte into the rolla.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm 3SGTE powered Corolla.

A few years back, I remember an AE92 FXGT with a 3SGTE was for sale. Went for a VERY reasonable price too.

It had all the 4WD driveline too
I think Glen (EZY10s) had something to do with that car too.

i have one of those , its so much fun , but traction is an issue as its only front wheel drive

um dude? bolt it in means that you get bolts and screw them into holes etc it doesn't confirm or deny whether or not any fabrication is needed.

What, fast? Well no, my series 4 was quite good at all 3, not hugely fast but still quick enough to get into serious trouble.

yeah true that, but still - even a series 4 is kinda thirsty in comparison to say, an SR20DET.
My old s4 when it wasn't running in good tune i would get like 300kms to a tank conservative driving if i was lucky :/

a bit OT, has anyone done a conversion of a 3sgte into a ae92/101/111? Was thiking of how much that would cost. I know the car would be very off balanced..

A motivated but naive friend of mine is putting a complete ST185 drivetrain into a ae111 trueno. Made some decent progress so far, looks expensive though

I'd say the cost of a 3SGTE conversion would by far exceed doing a turbo 4AGZE/4AGE.

I'd love too have an AE92 FXGT with a Caldina motor. It'd be kinda fun

I say, budget atleast double you would assume your budget it going to be

I though, "yaya" slap this manifold and turbo onto my engine and go for gold, so i sourced some pipeing (suprisenly i realised its Brendons old stuff, which i picked up a while back.. btw, whats the bov like lol )

And a intercooler which i had laying around, so i budgeted atleast a grand.
Yet now, i rebuilt the engine (parts alone), Then decided i wanted a bigger turbo, so spent atleast another paycheck chopping the old manifold, extending it and changing flanges to suit a bigger turbo (t28 rather than a td04) then needed fuel, still havent got any sort of ECU, plenium custom made (Well, didnt cost me anything as it was a "job" for a "job" type thing, i sprayed some car parts for him) then decided to paint the engine bay, just for the (looks) misc parts missed in the process or broken before hand cost a bit, and as you can see i budged around $1000.. no where near finished, engine still not even going, and im wayy past the goal price.. i say, do it once.. do it properly cause like me.. youll plan a (cheap) setup, decide its shit, then pay even more modifying everything else when you could of being done!

I was wondering how your car was coming along, i guess that answers it, i can confirm everything you have said, my budget got thrown way out the window.
