just watching the news, and after what was probably (i wasn't there) a good weekend for car orientated people in chch, some idiots go and poor deisel on the road, and throwing bottles at other cars,

sucks when this sh1t happens, as it just spoils an awesome time

lol, as IH8TEC says, happens everywhere, unless Hamilton doesn't have an idiots there? find that hard to believe with your comment

The same crap happens all the time, its just that it got more news time being a big weekend for cars. can't expect much from inbred hippies that can't even spell without using text language, what hope have we got as a race

"ai bro, i gotz mi skidz on wif disel ai tht pruvs my car is pht"

that took me a good 30 seconds to work out how to dumb down the typical call made by such a munter

every town has their own breed of people that are so stupid, driving around in cars with no wof no reg and doing burnouts with diesel that we should just do a massive cull of them. Imagine how many oldschool cars could be saved from being ruined by said winners

Just your typical car show weekend. Its' not just Chch people, but all the idiots from around the south island that meet up. I lost count of the fresh burnout marks around Hagley park, as well as broken bottles etc.. sections of the 4 aves were bumper to bumper for quite a while, plenty of nose-to-tails as well. After the abuse being hurled around and the total lack of driving courteousness from pretty much every modified car I saw, we got pissed off and went home early.

I can appreciate a decent car show, but not the idiots that go with it. I actually felt quite sorry for the police! I'd suggest moving the show to a single day during the week, when most people can't stay out all hours and get drunk?

This weekend made me embarrassed to be associated to the car scene.

I went out for a few brews on friday night and saw plenty of muppets driving round. Still nowhere near like it has been in the past though.

sad thing is most of the people out causing trouble probly collect a benefit , or work in unskilled labour jobs (gas station attendants) so moving it to a weeknight isnt going to bother them too much :?
it would only affect people who work and have a measly 2 nights a wek for leisure activities

most weekends make me embarassed to be associated to the car scene. The amount of genuine car enthusiasts has been well overshadowed by drunk morons just following a trend.
It isn't a case of the minority ruining it for the majority, this is the majority ruining it for the minority.
When they're leaning out of car windows or stepping into the road in front of cars I always hope they fall out and crack their heads open or get hit by the car etc. Society is better without them.

i havent been out to witness the car scene for a long time.

i had been hoping it was only a matter of time before all the $&#$% lost interest and only the real enthusiasts remained, but somehow i think that wont ever happen.
i remember the days when everybody knew everybody else in the scene, and the atmosphere was friendly , not aggressive as seems to be the way now.
even way back when people were first racing the current crop of imports at illegal street drags it was way different, night time cruises were way more relaxed, you could get a group of 20 odd cars together for a nighttime cruise and not worry about some munter trying to showcase his fat D1 skillz and drive over a bank instead.

sigh i guess im gettin old.

Haha, word to that. :)

My little sister's mates came around in their KE70 wagon on Saturday, I changed an alternator for them, totally rough POS, no reg, no windows, can paint job.. and he'd sold it for $1200! I was like, back when I was 16, this would have been a $150 car, hahah! :)

i remember someone had a car battery powered xmas tree they used to bring out at the street drags years ago
funnily enough i don't really remember anyone dropping diesel, throwing bottles or being abusive :?

not sure if anyone else has noticed it but there are more skinheads driving round in DX's then ever before, and they seem to be the type that is the bottle throwing, yelling at passers by, do skids,
all i could hear all night long was cars doing burnouts then cops chasing with sirens then it will stop for 10 minutes and the process will start all over again,

those kind of people are oxygen thieves. they should be chemically castrated to stop them breeding, that way they can't dilute the human gene pool.

Got to admit I think its quite sad that the situation of the "boyracers" has got so bad. Not to mention the elivated price of all cool oldshcool cars. And yes shame to see so many of these old cars getting bucherd by these kids.
I work with kids (13-18ish) some at risk and some not, some "boy racers" and some not, but more than a few have a genuine interest in older cars, and I cant help but think if all the "oxygen thevies" found something better to do then the inflated price on these cars would drop again and it would become more affordable to the new enterants to get in to who have a genuine interest. Should really piont out too the issues of good kid's perants to let them get involved in the oldshcool car seen due to there poseptions of it and "boyracers". I dont see it changing anytime soon, like I said quite sad.
And just to note after working with kids, regardless of what there into and what there doing there is a good person hidding in each of them... Can just be hard to find them sometimes :)

Theres my 2c, hope you enjoyed the spelling :)

....or crushing cars. It doesn't matter who owns it...unless it has been stolen....if it blongs to Mummy or Daddy.....tough....crush it.

Sme goes for any vehicle used in any crime...if it can't be sold with the prceeds going to the victim....crush it.

Thats $&#$% stupid, would give them a reason not to stop when the cop puts his lights on.
