RWD 20v 4age waterlines

Postby rollas22 » Tue Mar 11, 2008 8:54 pm

Just about to start my RWD 20v 4age turbo in my KE35 coupe...

just wondering what other ppl have done when it comes to the waterlines... as they come from the rear of the motor.

Was thinking of havin them run back round an under the quads an both go to the 1 side rather than go near the exhaust an turbo etc...

Let me know any other options

that method reverses the flow through the engine
so the inlet ports get the hottest water
instead of the stock system of inlet getting coolest flow first

I've just done the same conversion except i have made a plate for the back of the head and welded two tubes that line up with the hole's in the head and then run an external thermostat from a 4AGZE. This way you will retain the correct flow.(cooler water though the inlet first)And you retain the original water pump and housing.

Its is a bit of mucking around but so is the other way.

Yea both methods are a bit of a muck around, but 20vs were never ment to go into rwd's.

Heres what mine looks like...not my doing, I just brought it like this.
Prob not the best if there is going to be a nice turbo sitting under it, but gives you a visual aid...lol
