Boy Racers

Postby ipnz » Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:58 pm

Hey guys and girls, how are you?

I have just spent the past few days setting up a website for the people of Christchurch and the rest of New Zealand to voice their opinions regarding the boy racer issue thats being thrown round the media.

It has 3 sections for people to utilise, there is one for the racers themselves, one for the general public and one for businesses.

Have a look at the site and let everyone know what you think by using the form or sending an email to the site, there is also a forum to discuss it between yourselves if you wish.

The address of the website is http://www.hangar33.net. or just hangar33.net if you can't be bothered typing.

Thanks and have a good day.

i think you might be slightly optimistic there.

how many people do you think are going to say "yes i'm a street racer".
even that name/term implies that by owning a modified a car that you go out and race it on the street.
you even put a definition on your front page that matches the medias negative image they've tried so hard to paint of people who own modifed cars..

if you take 5 minutes to read the posts on this forums you will find that 99% of the people here don't much appreciate the idiots who go out and drive in dangerous manners, they make life very difficult for the majority of people who enjoy cars as a hobby.

what do you think people are going to discuss? i'm a little confused as to your aim with this website.

flygt4 put in a civilised way what i was thinking.

I enjoy and build modified cars, and i dont think i have ever been "street racing" ever. I dont want to be labled as such and thrown into the same categorie so i will not participate in your survay.

it's not just for people who just freely admit to being "street racers" it's for everyone, even people like yourselves who are not, but are treated like one by the police etc

if you think that it's just a select few knobs that ruin it for the rest of us then goto the site and let everyone know

I will be sending all the info I get to the authorities so they know what everyone really thinks

wheres the option for disgruntled MSNZ event organisers that deal with boyracerfags tearing up carparks instead of getting onto the track??

even if i could offer free entry to an organised event for these little dorks, on the basis thay produced a car that complied with a few basic safety rules, they would never over subscribe the entry list.

you can blame councils for not supplying venues, or try to blame MSNZ for have rules so harsh that it might cost you less than a small speeding fine to comply for a season.................... but never blame yourselves for being retarded sheep

QFT!

that is all.

people doing the "street racing" will be too dumb to fill in a survey to start with, so might just be a small waste of time on your part to run a site based around this issue.

the questionaire dosn't state 'boy-racers' but says 'racers'. i thought i would then qualify, but havn't raced my car for nearly 2 years.

What a complete waste of time.

What's it's purpose? What could it possibly achieve? We have forums, people vent there... they vent here, it's already all here in writing.... blah blah

Boy racers

Postby stronghotcoffee » Mon Mar 17, 2008 1:58 am

Good on ya #1

For:

Boy racers do get picked on, funny when you start looking older than the bum-fluffed "Ecilop's" they leave you alone.
Those Rangiora cops are Mo.grles always pinging young fellas on the main drag in.
Love cruising at night, would need dark tints these days as you might think its your old man following you around from a distance :D

Against:

Bumbling around the four aves, my Mrs works at one of the motels on Bealey ave, We stayed for five nights as Hotel minders while they had a deserved rest the managers.
Friday and Saturday nights especially reminded me of being trackside at the Indy, the managers sleep with ear plugs and guests normally only stay one night.

Whats sad is the managers have purchased the lease that requires big payments to the bank regularly and these people work so hard for basically nothing cause of rice burners scarring their customers away.

Point of view - do not alienate the whole of Christchurch against you cause there will only be one outcome .......

Be Kool like the boys and girls that use to drag down Cass St in an industrial area effecting no ones lively-hood that has done you no harm.

I have to say, a clear explanation of what you're hoping to achieve would be helpful; I had a quick look at the site and I didn't see what advantage you're presenting. The issue of 'boyracers' is very well publicised and I think you'd need a very clear mission that is actually of value to the community, if you wish to get us involved in 'yet another' online discussion forum covering the subject.

Suggest that if you want to improve this and pursue it again you send your case to admins@toyspeed.org.nz and get the Mod Squad's endorsement, otherwise you do risk this turning into a flamefest.

Cheers
BJ
