Awesome day guys thank you to all who organised, scrutineered and generally helped out good to see some old faces.Track action was fast and furious I ran a PB never been in the 1.17 range so I'm real happy with that.

There were a few interesting and fast cars there Hayabusa powered car was interesting and the GTR was a absolute rocket and I can atest to that personally also the RX-7 with the Lexus V8 was also in the 1.17 range as well.

I seriously think we in the timing booth probably had nearly as much fun as the people out there racing. It was definitely a case of the inmates taking over the nuthouse up there today.

My pants approve very much of that Lexus powered RX7. That is most definitely a car I would own at the drop of a hat.

The Skyline was running down to the 1:15's, while the Busa turbo sports racing car ran a 1:12.12. DAMN!

1:15.3 i think to be exact. Sounded awesome as it flew past the timing booth.
And yes that series 6 rx7 sounded like sex.
Some really awesome racing today.

And yes i agree leon we had a lot of fun in the timing booth today :D

I'm not surprised at all with the Hayabusa powered car the guy was just dialling it on more and more each time out and the GTR well from having a few runs with him it was real good and yes it a absolute rocket I could stay with him through some corners but not in the straights.I've been coming to Manfield for about 7-8 years and in that time there's only 3,4 cars that have done that to me so that was a bit of a trip for me.Also the GTR was only running DOT semi's so with full slicks he will go quite a bit faster.

Either that, or he'll kill the car when he puts slicks on it  Depends how his mechanicals will handle the extra grip and drive.

You surprised the hell out of a lot of people yesterday in the Supra, especially considering it is a two pedal supra.

I get that all the time being a AUTO and all but I feel I'm only disadvantaged at the hairpin after the esses as I think that is a true 2nd gear corner whereas in the auto its a in between gear but everywhere else I'm pretty much fine.

Its ther first time on slicks and they are as advertised thats a full 2 seconds quicker than I have ever gone on DOT Semi's the grip is just unbelieveable.I still believe there's more time to be had once I get my head around how much grip I really have as I felt I was a little inconsistent found it real hard to get in a groove as the runs were to short. In a ideal situation I'd like to do 5-8 lap run's then I think I might be able to improve a little more.

Anything lost by the lack of a third pedal is pretty much made up by the nutter behind the wheel anyway

Yeah, longer stints is better for more serious cars, but tends to roast the hell out of the more standard road cars.

Leela and I had a lot of fun with our first track event. Very pleased with my best time of around 1:33.2 I believe.

Definately got a lot more to learn but I've got a whole 5 sprint series to figure it out!

Thanks to everyone that helped out, and as soon as the results have been compiled and sent through I'll be putting them up on the website :)

That was a cool day. Good to see some damn fast cars as well.

Looks like many people set pb's which is great to hear. 2jayzgte, your new 1.17sec one might take a bit of beating

That GTR was nuts. i think i remember entering something like 1min22sec on his standing lap 8O

Definitely. Pity the trailer load of "sand trap" that he collected then distributed liberally held the event up for about 45 minutes  Oh well.

Big thanks to HCCC for organising the day, had a great time and got truck loads of track time. Interesting to get a exhaust db reading at scrutineering as well.

The supra, skyline and batty where seriously quick. The best marks in my books go to the supra considering it was driven from WGN raced and driven home!

Definitely need to get me some slicks for the Levin and upgrade from the semi's. Anyone want to do a group buy or can get some good prices?

Man if you had 17s I reckon I can source a set of used V8 touring car slicks for about $200-300 thats for all 4 aswel I'd have to check though but they would'nt be much more than that.

Funny you should say drive home after I absolutely hammered passed the GTR on the way home as it was parked on a trailer doing 90 kph it was the only time I over took it all day...... l
