Too much torque steer and too much wheel spin.

I was told it was the car to beat also, he did bloody well in a non caged full weight road car and a bloody shame he bent it.

There was talk that one of the skylines, i'm not sure which was tuned by Soichi and makes 580kw atw?

for the record....EVO88U made 404kw atw at 2.2 bar boost on the dyno but couldn't run it at the track due to spark problems.
Boost was backed off to just under 2 bar and dwell increased to boost spark so was probably making around 380kw on the day.

I think well driven the car would be capable of lapping in the 60 second range.
Data logger showed 289kph top speed which was a little surprising (and scary) too. 8O

congrats scott
289kph! damn

I thought 25X in my car felt pretty damn fast lol

Yep FSTFUL is mine best time on the day 1.04 and the bloody car that pulled out in front of me was Scott winner (not his fault), But he didn't slow me at all just scared the sh-t out off me. My car started missing badly out of the hairpin all the way to the finish line. Once I got on the front straight I was watching gauges more than track because I knew no cars would be on the track, I looked up to see a red car on the track thank god for good brakes.

Friday testing 1.01 bummer

Awesome work Barry, car looks super fast in the video and you got the lap times to back it up, hopefully I'll join you for the next one later this year, if not, there's always next year.

Sorry about that Grant(and for stealing your brakleen, i owe you one :) ), i still don`t even recall seeing you go past let
alone approaching.

I think we were the guinea pigs being first out and quite frankly it was a recipe for disaster.
We all went out thinking we were the only car on the track and nothing would be approaching from behind.
I had a tv camera on board for that run and had tipped the rear veiw mirror up out of the way so had absolutely no idea you were coming.

I had the exact same incident also with Harry though and with hyndsight i should have braked rather than lifted as i had to thread the needle at over 250kph with about a car width to get through as he swerved right to warm his tyres.
It was lucky one or both of us weren't killed and the organisers deserve a good spanking for it.
The camera footage must look pretty scary.
Shame about your car and i hope it's just a minor problem, i feel extremely fortunate and a little undeserving of the win given that the fastest cars didn't get a time down but thats motorsport so i'll take it just the same. :)

The fastest SS2000 car does 1.05s around puke at the moment, the fastest turbo SS2000 car does around 1.06-1.07.

Basically My car would carve up at puke in SS2000 in street form lol.

Sounds like another awesome event (if a little top heavy).
Roll on Taupo, methinks I'll be back at that one if the car will survive till then...

I thought the point was to better your own times, not necessarily competing with others?

although it is always more fun to be at the top of the field than the bottom.

Well I wouldn't say that ... I mean this event has come fro Japan where they spend sh*tloads to produce just one car just for this one event. hehe
It very much is a competition to be at the top of the field.

I think this event was not as publicized as it should have been and actually think there were not enough of the top guys like cars from super gt, eg the mag and turbo sylvia does laps in under a minute at puke!! :)

Yeah, but like me they probably dont fit into the rules with reg/wof etc etc.

I thought it was for street cars, not race cars, otherwise it would just be superGT.

Scotty I think you should get out and have a run with Kane's GTR he might surprise you a little. That car is pretty quick around Manfield he did a 15.2 on Semi's on the weekend and is looking to throw slicks at it so I'm thinking he might be in the same ball-park time wise as you once he gets the slicks on board of course.I see the Cheapskates advertising all over your car I see Mr Green has been hard at work.......
