EP82 Starlet GT wheelstuds

Postby Boosted_162 » Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:59 pm

Just getting my sisters EP82 back up and running with the new motor. But before its driveable i have to replace all the front wheelstuds (stripped).

Is it easy as knocking them out the back? (I tried on one of the broken studs and didnt budge - lined up with the hole behind it). Or is there a method to doing it? Car doesnt have ABS.

Cheers

Bash it harder, they should all pop out reasonably easy

Couldnt you just put the wheel on and tighten? Providing theres enough thread. Then just check after a drive.

Cheers Lloyd. Time for a bigger hammer

To put them back on the easiest way to get someone to stand on the brakes or lock things up some other way, get a nut with a slightly bigger thread on than the stud and wind your wheel nut on.

The other nut works as a bit of a spacer as the studs don't always have thread right to the bottom, and saves the wheel nut from bottoming out also. Plus you can actually see when the stud has pulled right home.
