it's a term i often use when referring to very large sums.

maybe make it a 2-day event. with testing and qualifing first day, then shoot-out on second?
enables those of us with lesser cars to be knocked out early so we can watch the finals
if the entry was cheaper, and a 2 day event, i reckon a heap of those guys that are unwilling to post times that are not competitive for outright placings, might enter a 'class war' for cc rating???
having not seen how the day works in the flesh, i am unsure what is required to improve the event.
it would be good to see some of the potent circuit cars unleashed outside of their normal boost/ rev limit restrictions.

The day is about who goes the fastest, period. Same as in Japan. Stop with the moaning, if you're not fast enough, spend some more money, brush up on your skillz and go faster.

If you want regulation, go run in a proper race series. I love the Superlap concept.... come one, come all (to an extent, as the rules do exclude non-Japanese/Asian cars I believe) and winner takes all.

BS you reckon...From what you are saying you mean the dude with the biggest check book wins.

As for comparing this event to Japanese events why would you do that the cars that enter those events are the length of street better and more developed than what we have here how could you compare the 2 its chalk and cheese.

How can you not compare it when the Japanese Superlap is effectively the blueprint for this type of time attack event across the globe? I'm not comparing the cars I'm comparing the concept. Come one come all, winner takes all. Don't cry if you don't take all/or anything at all.

Loosely speaking yes, the person with the bigger chequebook does have an improved chance of winning - more money = more ability to develop a car. This of course is assuming a given person has the skill level to match their vehicle.

I can't talk, my fastest lap around Manfeild is a 1:31.8 so I'm hardly a good driver.

sweet.. maybe I should turbo it, or do some better NA tuning and do it next time

wait.. gota be road legal right? damnit

Haha yeah less noise, more glass, road legal tires, stuff stuff and more stuff. A "400kw" FD was doing 1:06s apparently, one of the quicker cars there.

Mines under the road legal limit, has full glass, and RA1 road tires :P
But I imported it.. So cant be complied

Car compliance to enter is not a worry because your car will fit in to a class with or without rego wof.

What we need to look at is how do we keep this event alive. I do not know of a event that as TV cover for Street cars. Oh well there is the 6.00pm news on 2 and 3!

You are right in saying that its not funny laughing at someones misfortune.

But whats the point in saying a modified GTR is "soooooooo" much faster than Bazda's car? If thats what you are meaning, its kind of pointless.

fact is, that one is, or was, and will be again when he gets it fixed which he intends to do.

it's not funny, it's unfortunate, and thats what can happen when you push your car near the limit, just good thing it was on a racetrack unlike some muppits, use your imagination

but like i think someone said about your evo scott, i guess it's easy to drive a 500kw gtr around a track :?

Doubling up the fact that there was nothing to laugh at it about. Crashing is terribly unfortunate, especially with a car of that kind of value - and also the fact that its times were nothing to laugh at.
