Hey guys, never dealt with the 2J's much. I've got a customer who wants to know if he buys a turbo'd 2J and ECU, and drops it in his non turbo'd body will he need to change his wiring loom and/or trans?Or anythings else for that matter.

I would imagine the engine loom is different, can run the trans thats in there now (i assume its an auto? you didn't specify, either way makes no real difference, just be aware that the turbo trans is beefier). I doubt the exhaust will fit either, all other things should be the same, since the blocks are pretty much identical.

oh, and probably less of a headache if you source a non-vvti engine for the swap, i would imagine there are quite a few differences between them and the older model 2jz

if you had the loom with the engine, then it should just drop in shouldn't it? other than the exhaust and i/c plumbing of course.

use the turbo trans. it is very strong. the non turbo trans will start to die unless you leave the 2jzgte pretty standard.i have a spare if required.
