Hey guys, Gidday from the Gold Coast
Just wondering what your thoughts were on the old 1982 ra60 celica. I am looking at one for sale this afternoon and need to know what to look out for.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan.

rust mate i used to have one, they get it in the sils and the a pillars, peel back the rubbers if you suspect any rust. engine, well it depends if you are gonna keep it or bin it i guess, usual stuff to listen for knocks and excess ticking exhaust leaks.

It had an engine replacement not too long ago - there's a little bit of rust but nothing too major - its only going to cost me 1,500 so hopefully its not too much of a bomb :P I just got back from driving it - seems all good - a little ticky but no knocks at all. Im gonna take the plunge, buying it tomorrow :D I'll get pics up when I do.

Cheers for the info.

Yeah i think its pac fair! We went for a huge cruise last night - cruise being the operative word. That thing is slow...and I mean sloooooow. Slower than my old 1.3 corolla, and thats saying something!

Reaper_2000 - yeah my folks sold up and moved to another place in trentham - the mr2 is nestled up in the garage at the new place :) Dad takes it for a spin for me just so it doesnt get lonely lol. I'll be comming back soonish to get hub adapters and a new turbo fitted.
