i can get the superlites for about $200each and the offsets that will suit best.

ive been trying wheels out.

ive been looking at the 15x7 advanti takashis


but i tried the 17x9 .com wheels (as per the ones on the back)


and the DTM drift dr 17x9


the 15x7s would be the cheapest option and id run the grid 3 215/60/ 15s that i have already

The 17x9s will cost me about $2k with tyres

will 7" wide wheels give me enough room for wider tyres and get enough traction for a street car that will see 300rwkws from time to time?

I had 15x7 superlites (performance wheel brand from Australia) and they looked good but to be honest they looked too skinny. That was with 195/50's though.

I would suspect they'd look even skinnier on your Supra, even if they had a nice offset. Try get something wider if you can.

Have you looked at the Rota brand equivilent? They are reasonably priced and look more like the Watanabe (spelling).

Forget buying brand new, for the same price as some work equip knock offs brand new, you could import a mean set of genuine deepdish ones from Japan, which are going to look approximately a billion times better on your car.

Most 'modern' wheels take the cheap way out, they keep the face of the wheel close to the outside face, and machine the face that mounts to the hub to set the offset. As this is more cost effective, can fit FWD and RWD cars, etc etc.

However most older wheels seem to be 2 or 3 piece and were made keeping the centre the same, but moving it further inwards or outwards to set the offset... Which is why (for example) genuine equip 03s look so much cooler than the avanti knock offs.

Yep im with ROMANV on this one, if you can fiind a set of them equips take them!!!!!!

i have a set of FR simmons in 17s althoough they are "porn" to look at, if your racing wouldnt recommend them once you pick one up youll know why.

And the superlites are the same, suprisingly heavy for the name.
I like them but they are an aqquired taste to some people.
The KONIG REWINDS are a nice take on them
