KE35 SR Coupe

Postby Warren » Fri Jun 13, 2008 4:37 pm

Hey guys and Gals,

A friend of mine needs to sell his KE35.
It was supposed to be a project car and it's all in pieces.
There is pretty much 2 of everything except for the shell and chassis (i.e. 2 LH doors, 2 RH door, 4 bumpers, 4 tail lights, 2 rear ends, 2 grills, 2 engines etc etc) There was bugger all rust (its all been cut out, needs to be welded up) The paint has been stripped back and is in storage and covered up.
We are in the process of taking photos of everything, and writing a complete list of everything so he can advertise it.

Was just wondering what sort of ballpark figure he could get for it?

i would be semi interested, but 2k for dereg is steep imho. is a long and expensive road to get something like that back in teh system.

then again, im a tight ass.

could possibly put up 800-1k depending on how tidy shell is. have nowhere for it, but cant resist SR's!

In that case, since you guys are showing a bit of interest:
I know 2K was a long shot, but hey worth a shot.
I just checked with the owner and he would be pretty keen to get $1000-$1500 for the car. IMO the shell is pretty tidy, just no paint. Looks pretty straight. But I do encourage anyone to have a look first as it is in pieces. Basically a rolling body with double ups of just about everything.

Oh, and sorry 79rolla. He's not to keen on swaps. His wife would'nt appreciate that. She is already frustrated with the SR taking up the garage. Sorry mate.
Good luck with your sale though :)

The car is a 1976 with 1980 interior by the way.
1 body, 1 chassis, one 4k single carb engine, two or three 4 speed gearboxes. Brand new cluth plate and starter motor.
Just about everything else is doubled up. So theres almost enough to build two cars out of all this.
We still need to write a complete list of everything there is in detail but that give you an idea.

It's not complete at all really. It's pretty much been stripped down to the very last nut and bolt. The body is still rolling though. Just no panels doors or interior etc are are on it.
Sorry, I would post pics but I don't have the photos. It would be better to have a look at it in person than photos though. Because you'll then get a better gauge of what you would be dealing with.
The car is in the Botany Downs area.

As a rough gauge, I sold my KE35 race car as a rolling shell for $1500 last year on TM.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

There will be a formal advertisement in the buy and sell section along with photos and details of the car in the next week. Most likey be under Cars[Complete] as the owner wants to sell the whole lot for the one price.
Also a registered mini chopper will be up for sale. Details to follow.

Thanks,
Warren
