What size in the Direzza's? Last time i brought some they were $159 a tire in a 195/50/15

I have 215/40/17 potenza G3's on the car at the moment; but the ride is rock hard with the car being lowered. I know 215/40/17 direzza's are a wee bit cheaper but I don't think my arse would forgive me after a long trip. The car is also bottoms out heaps with the 215/40's.

I've had the direzza before which means I know what to expect. I've heard good things about the eagle though.

I've haven't heard much good news about the MY-01 so that is out of the equation now.

Go for the Goodyear F1s. Do it!

tonys tyres gave me a price of $180 for F1s off their site, try knocking that price you got down and go eagles

GSD3 F1s have cleaned up the tyre tests in the wheels mag for the last 3 years and beat out the Falken 452 in this years test.But the GSD3 F1 are going to be replaced by a newer better asymetric type treaded tyre..

For me I've been using this Goodyear tyre for about 5 years and they are just unbeatable in the wet.

there is no tony's tyre's here in auckland i will try to get it cheaper if i can but at that price is rock bottom any way.

TOYO T1R, i used to run them when my car was supercharged really good tyres, now i use the R888's and still cant get traction, i still run them on the rear as they are reasonabbly proced work awesome in the wet and they dont have the price tag of the 888's

Toyo and Falken do a 195/45/14 I believe Dunlop also do a 185/55 in a semi slick too.

I used to have a set of Potenza G3's in 205/60/14 on a set of TOMS wheels. But will be very hard to find a set of them now . Great tyres tho, have them on the back of my SW20

I had GSD3's and loved them. Awesome tyre wet and dry, but I found when they let go they did it real quick. I now have a full set of Kuhmo Ecsta 712, and fing that they will break a lttle earlier than the F1, but the drift is more progressive and controllable. That said, I don't think I would buy them again. I'll probably look at whatever the the GSD3 is replaced with, as I shouldn't need to change again for about 12 months.

Well - I put Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's on my GTT and I absolutely love them.

$199 each from Beaurepairs - fitted including GST.

*These tyres were seccond hand & on the mags I purchased, so its probably not the fairest comparison. Also the lower profile may have some effect on the comparison.

I would have preferred a stiffer wall in the Eagle F1, but considering the hard ride and noise of the Potenza G3 I reckon the Eagle F1 is a better tyre overall for a varying range of conditions.

In summing up:
If I was heading to the track - the Potenza G3 would be my choice.
For everyday driving - the Eagle F1 takes it.

Yeah, I found these were good tyres I had on a set of my Soarers wheels.

I was looking to get a new set but a good tyre man I was talking to said to avoid them now as most are made in China (ehh) and have problems with even weights and balance due to the way they make them, so basically they are not linear through out the width etc.

Quite scary hence why Im trying to avoid buying a lot of China stuff these days especially food, you dont know whats in it! But....... thats another story!!

In the end I ended up going for some Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres made in Germany, even better tyres. But the original Eagles I had were made in Germany.... sadly they are not these days as far as I know.
