not true GT's can get up around 50% efficiency though in a very narrow power range.

Starting gt's uses vast amounts of fuel so you need enough storage so you don't need to start stop the gt often.
Also 'small' gt's at around 30Kw are only ~30% efficient, get to an efficient size and your generator and batteries will be massive.
