Indeed it is.

Anything to do with modded cars here seems to be considered a big sin.
A cop tried doing my brother for street racing the other day, he was in a ke70 wagon, the car overtaking him was an evo3  yeah, real good race there

What sort of car is it? if its a 20v you'd be doing bloody well to get a 20% increace over the factory quoted output.

Got Corolla in 2day for WOF at work. The guys handed me a "Your vehicle has failed a warrent of fitness because of a noisy exhaust" pamphlet yesterday. Foreman wants to take it to our local LVV certifier just to use as a benchmark i guess for future cars

Its a BT 20V, stock headers and two-one collector. then 60mm system with two reso's and a flowmaster style rear muffler with 60mm mild steel tip.

should be ok but fingers crossed.

Nelson's not that gay...oh wait it really is

My brothers spun his MR2 on a roundabout when he was a wee fulla in Dunedin in front of a cop. Cop said "take it easy eh" and that was it.

When I used to have my Datsun 1200 in Nelson I would get pulled up just about every time I drove it, thankfully it was 100% legit...

Factory exhaust for the lose

stab the throttle, intake noise is a heap more noticable, turbo spools quicker, so ya think wohoo, still fast, then..... Nothing, as the engine strangles itself

Soooo not cool, now to fail the recheck as my overly large factory turbo proves to be a problem still

Are the WOF testers f$%king blind or stupid. I would have thought the word 'Toyota' stamped into the compressor housing would be enough.

all legit now, had a letter from the toyota dealership saying that the turbo fitted was factory fitment, and I took in a dyno sheet showing my power output (granted the sheet was 2 years old and of the gen 2 engine) , re fitted the factory exhaust, with an additional flange to fit my old system back on easy peasy

It actually feels nearly civilised enough to use as a daily driver again

apart from the stiff suspension, low profile tyres and cunty clutch haha

Ive never had any problems with all my mods although my mechanic normally does my WOF and he's the one who installed all the stuff, mabey he feels obliged to pass it each time since Ive spent so much with them :)

I think a combination of factors such as louder exhaust, excessivly lowered over stock, the drivers ageand general condition of car tends to draw attention and then you run into trouble with all sorts of questions being asked.

He had a green sticker it wasn't about just getting a regular WOF.

I had a 3inch straight through with two resonators and a decent rear muffler, failed for noise at a local wof place, spend close to $200 getting another one put in, went back and he failed it again.

So took it somewhere else and passed no worries, $200 worse off though!

Ok so I just got a $400 tax return from IRD, Time I sort my exhuast out before they take the $400 back via the Police and LTSA.

Ive got an ae82 fx-gt, stock blue top engine, the front of the exhaust is standard how ever the s bend is badly welded and rusting with a massive dent in it, and my muffler has a rather large sign on it saying green sticker me.

Any advice what I should get? Pitstop gave me a quote for a toyota orginal S bend and Toyota GT muffler, both orginally designed for my years corolla. Is this a good way to to, it avoids the whole non standard exhuast problem, any one running something different that works well?

MR2SIK, what was your exhaust made up of?
I've just pulled the cat out of mine and realised my once quiet exhaust is now a 2.5" with only a single muffler :? (a real muffler mind you, not a cannon)
