Not decided yet eh.

Carby means less f-ing around to start with, but I have a thing for efi engines in cars that used to carb'd.

dont waste ya time on the 308

stick a mopar or ford in it!

ring some places like sydnham park chev spares etc and see what they maybe be able to do in the way of injected small blocks. say from corvette or camaro
in 99 i was quoted $5000 drive in drive out for a 5l injected smallblock and auto conversion..... no idea what the prices would be like now... but maybe worth checking out.

or you could look at a front cut from a crashed commode

Hah cheers Rev, yeah its exciting eh cos this has been my dream car since I was a kid.

Stuff putting a mopar in it! thats blasphemy
lol

I saw this mean setup in street machine a while ago was a torana with a ls2 with and blower on the side so thats my inspiration a bit.
6 litres of FI alloy pushrod donk

I will have to suss some wreckers I know I can get the VN-VS 5.0l V8's with gbox for just over 3k which I didn't think was too bad.
Hopefully the price of them come down due to petrol.

I'll keep my eyes open for a crashed VE HSV GTS

Actually, I've seen quite a few rollovers.
Ditch the 308 idea if you are looking to make horsepower.
Limited design and cost would make a LS1 or 2 a better choice.
The Chickadee Commodore maxed out the 308 and it was n/a

Just hope the body is reasonably clean, most of those models from hq-hz usually suffer from rust in floor, sill panels, boot and places. That can be costly on parts depending what you need to replace, some wreckers have panels still available new. Have a guy here who can do get parts through the Hlden club down here.
Depending what your budget allowed, which i'd say would be quite big considering your plans. Could get an ls2 v8, some people just put the 5 litre into them, maybe if your lucky enough to get a 5.7 v8 and 6 speed out of a vs senator awould be a nice upgrade. But as i said depends whether you want to go crazy or relatively mild.

spot the holden fan^^

those look quite cool (off trademe) does anyone keen them original or do they usually get modified quite heavily? Bags for example :P and eww monza seats in another with "custom" dash with guages.

I'm just wondering as I would have thought you'd see as many standard ones being looked after but not the case with these tanks?

They're just the ones that have been sitting on trademe for ages - can't sell!

Think most people keep them original inside, and cover things in chrome under the bonnet
