Postby Flunk » Sun Aug 10, 2008 2:19 am

So what sort of money should i be looking at to have my blacktop rebuilt?

and whos a reliable outfit to get to do it, in chch?

well, when i say rebuilt, i presume this is what it need,s i know blacktops use a little bit of oil, but mine is using allot lately, and puffing smoke when you give it assholes.. so im guessing its time for some new rings etc...

i usually have to put about a litre a week in it, sometimes 1 litre per fortnight.... its spent most of its life, in the higher end of the rev range :)

That is quite a bit.
Are you using a catch can at all?

neg. the only modification was the removal of the factory airbox, for a stailess option + pod.

Whats involved in installling/running a catch tank? will this help?

hmm yeah the higher the revs the more oil you will use, so you can either just keep topping it up and it will probably keep running.

Even with a rebuild it might not be long before its burning oil again.

However, send B1NZ a PM as he had his rebuilt under similar circumstances I think
