Disposal of old parts

Hopefully a very simple question.

What does one do with old and absolutely screwed shocks?

I could take them to the dump I suppose, but I wondered if there isn't another option? (Just realised how "Greenie" that sounded, but it wasn't intended that way, please note I'm NOT a greenie.)

Tried searching, but as per usual with my searching skills, found nothing.

inorganic rubbish collections are best for that sort of thing, ours is coming up in october, ring your local council and see when your next one is otherwise take them to a scrap metal recycler.

do they not have a truck that comes and picks your rubbish up from the side of the road in hamilton ? usually in either plastic bags or a wheelie bin

maybe you could make a table out of them,

or bury them in the garden so in 100 years time when we have hovercraft cars some one will be stumped as to what they are.

maybe make some funky art and put it on trade me @ 1$ reserve ,

make a funny video of them and post it on you tube

maybe give them names and make a face book profile for each of the shocks and call them the shock family ?

post revealing pictures of the shocks wife and post it on thehun /goat list / other porno site

what about taking them to a shock shop and seeing if they can recondition them and sell them on trade me, dont even know if thats worth it or even safe tho

most shocks can be rebuilt but will be expensive, usually only worth it if you cant find replacements or the shocks you have cost $400 ea or something.

Move house and leave them in the garage, throw over the fence, into a creek etc

Common, its hamiton, put them out the front of your house, someone will take them. Your trash is a bogans treasure

Drive to the olds house, swap the new parts into the car.

Leave the old parts in their garage, wait for the yearly clean out - say they are important and get them put in storage

Ahhh maybe there is an upside to not having a garage where I live

Sacked out shocks are an advantage over new ones for a rwd in dragracing
