Definately National Auto Club. I was hit by an uninsured driver and *I* had to take him to small claims.

Small claims was a farce, but that is a whole different story...

Yeah - the woman over the counter was a complete useless bag. took almost 20 minutes to explain what happened - and then she went over the single sheet, double sided form, 3 times - fu.ck woman! learn to speak english so you can understand what I'm saying "OK I KNOW HOW TO FILL OUT A FORM!!!"

godsake haha

That probably wasn't a cop.

It possibly may have been a unsworn person working for the police. So try again.

Depends on the situation, for example restricted drivers breaking the conditions of thier licence and drunk drivers arent covered, generally if someone is breaking the law at the time of the accident thier insurance could well not cover it.

If you dont have insurance or only have 3rd party I wouldn't be pushing to hard to get him charged, could get very very hard for you to get anything out of him. If youve got full insurance your company will go after him for the money, then its probably worth getting him charged.

Same goes for things like bald tyres or modifications that are not listed on your policy.

When my mum was getting insurance for her '89 1500cc sohc carby mirage they claimed it was a "boy racer" car because it had 13inch mags!

The insurance company still has to prove it was the contributing factor of the accident though, which in a lot of cases isn't hard but I agree, most likely they'll pay out and blacklist you.

But yeah, most cops wouldn't probably want to take the charge to court without detailed evidence in case he wants to defend it.

Does that make it ok for them to be incompetent? If you go to a police station you should be able to deal with someone that has a clue

It's pretty common though. I've seen heaps of Caldina's around with them on. Anyone have any ideas on what make/model the bumper is?

Its a sportivo kit, should be able to get it ex japan

Yes but will WE have to source it? Or will the insurance/panel beaters source it?

It was on the car when it was brought into NZ. I assumed it was a standard toyota kit as there were 2 others at the car lot at the time with them on, and I've seen a few around on the roads

Does anyone know where to find one of these bumpers? The panel beater say's its not a toyota one and there's no marks or model on the one that was on the car. The panel beater will only put a nudge bar style bumper on - which REALLY sucks.

Is Sportivo a factory Toyota option? Or is it aftermarket?

Does anyone have a bumper like what we had as seen here:

Image

If so - are you able to please check if there are any markings or model numbers on it?

HELP!! :( :( :(

he has a whole website of products, probably best to visit his site and email via that. Quickest response i'd imagine.

I had a bomex kit on my car and had an oopsy, bodykit was stated on policy and so I was able to get my choice of front kit to replace it. You may just have to pay the extra if you find an aftermarket kit you like. (over the cost of a factory nudge)

Well a standard nudge bar bumper as quoted from toyota is $995

Surely an aftermarket bumper will be less than that?

I've had a look on the 41 site - there's almost nothing for toyota - and nothing for Caldina's

Cheers

I've sent him a message via his site.

What's an aftermarket bumper worth these days? Would it be less than $995?

I don't want the toyota quote to be cheap! I want the toyota quote to be expensive as possible - that way we've got more room to play with :)
