Yeah just looks like a slightly facelifted, higher specced KE30.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

I think the back looks alright, and the interior is mint.
But by the gods what happened to the front?
edit: Here this is better.

Aussie got ke5*'s, look pretty much the same as that. don't think any came this way though.

there's a few builds on toymods if anybody's keen enough on having a look, i reckon they're a bit of an ugly duckling compared to the ke3*'s but i bet they could be made to look damn sweet and the whole 'little bit different' factor would be worth it.

cheers
Matt

tail lights look vaguely similar to some ke20 lights. front looks similar to ke30s

but the interior is almost an exact replica of the ke35 models, same centre console, gauges, steering wheel etc etc...

Ugly Duckling or not, I reckon it's beautiful. I'd have one for sure. Then I'd butcher it with flared guards, enormous mudflaps, wingmirrors, a 4agze, and complete destruction of that beautiful interior (new gaming centre for PS3 racing games - hey if I could afford a rally car I could afford a PS3) to make way for a cage and some buckets etc.
Tip for successfull rally driving: Don't sink you're car in the first pond to catch your eye.

I dont mind it actually... Would be a good investment to put in the shed! Never seen one in NZ tho... Looks more US spec than JDM. But none the less, its different. Interior looks exactly the same as a KE35.

Most of them were 2T powered (in Japan at least) the nose and rear styling is Sprinter specific, vs Corolla styling.

The sides look almost identical to the KE30? I think the 30 series and the 50/60 series are the only two generation of Corollas to have that much shared between the two chassis wise.

As best as I can tell 30-60 series Corolla's are all one "generation" (being the 3rd gen Corolla).

It's like X30-X40 chassis as well... much the same.

Why? Only Toyota knows probably

I've seen a wrecked TE61 Trueno Coupe in the North Island. Came factory with 2T-GEU. I got the Trueno badge off the boot years ago and sold it on TradeMe. Had the same font type as bugeye KP60 Starlet C pillar badges.

Something on it that AE25 wants so don't ask where it is.
