IN THE QUEST TO BUILD MY OWN AE92 FXGT

Postby Hybridd » Tue Sep 09, 2008 2:35 am

Hi New Zealanders

As you know I am from South Africa , where of course we got some beautiful AE92 versions but sadly not my DREAM car , the 2 door AE92 FXGT.

The reason for this post is that I ask for you all you guys/girls to please bear with me whenever I ask any questions about the AE92 FXGT or if i post a possible interest in purchasing a specific AE92 FXGT part.I have bought some parts from some of you guys previously and then postage was done , I paid via MoneyGram and all was well.

Beleive me its hard to have a DREAM CAR and know that its affordable like the FXGT and not a Ferrari and know you can't own it easily because its not in your country. All we ever got in South Africa was the blasted 4 door versions..arghh.

So all i ask is to please bear with my questions and interest in purchases as I am building something UNIQUE here in my country and would appreciate all the help i get.I am converting my AE92 Hatchback to FXGT 2 door spec so wish me luck.

I promise not to disrupt the board or mess people around in anything as I am a genuine person and love your countries cars.

Did you know that most amount of FXGT's in the world is in NZ ?

Thanks in advance.

If i can help anybody with anything from South Africa , all you gotta to is PM me.

Regards

VORTEXX

yar NZ was the dumping ground for dying japanese cars for many a year.

i remember reading once that of 5000 evo 1's produced 3000 were imported to NZ! 8O

do you have two door AE92's in SAF, and if not have you considered importing a proper FXGT from NZ?

Importing from NZ would be mega expensive, ALOT more than importing from Japan.

Man we should set up some sort of group buy for the guys over there.

I sold my ae82 fxgt for $800 with reg and wof, if we find heaps of cheap cars and a way to get them over there and legal etc, surely with enough cars you could profit?

Mate , believe me when I say this that $ 800 AE82 FXGT you sold can fetch as much and more like $ 5000 here in South Africa. The guys love that car , me I am an AE92 FXGT fan.

My AE92 Hatchback sells for around $ 7000 here in South Africa.
My AE92 is a 1995 model and in mint condition only that its a 4 door model..

Group buy would be good if the interest was there and it was cheap to import cars to South Africa. At the moment its a luxury on the really rich enjoy as its too costly mate.

Its 11:30 am here now and I am checking with our local Customs on this issue. Will revert back here shortly.

Thanks..

Yeah i know some of the NZ cars are BLOODY Cheap.. 8O

A MK 4 Supra 3 litre Twin Turbo if imported properly can sell her for : $ 53 000 Dollars.. 8O

So you see its cheaper on your side.

Property in NZ is a killer price though..sheesh.. 8O

Hey Mate

Your HEAP would be considered like Gold here , I guess thats how rare import Toyota's are here.

We did not get ANY import Toyota.

We don't have :

-Supra's
-Celica's
-Starlets
-Lucida's
-Hilux Surf's
-FXGT

Nothing , Nothing , Nothing.

I honestly believe we are the ONLY country in the world NOT to get imports..
