mmmm
nz was the dumping ground for alot of jdm cars be it early 60/70/80/90/00 cars

rather than trying to import a fx gt form us which would cost alot more than the car maybe like for fold

you should look in the uk

look for ae92 corrolla gti
thats what they were badged in over there
less hassle and less shipping costs i would imagn

good luck

plus ae82s are millons better :P

Yes mate , the AE92 Hatchbacks where produced up until 2007 in South Africa.

They were called the Toyota Tazz.

Mate , you are really annoying me with this..

I don't live in New Zealand so things don't work in my country like they do in yours !!

I guess you don't know cars all that well hey ????

Can you explain to me why the VW Beetle originally built in the 1960's only ceased production in early 2000 ?

Do you see where I am going with this.

Please stop picking and passing comments that no one really cares about !!

whoa didn't mean it like that, smile.
Yes I do realise Mexico were still making the old VW Beetle for decades after the rest of the world.
Just found it surprising that a Toyota would be in a similar situation.
Now in all seriousness how does a SA spec 2007 AE92 compare to a JDM 1991 AE92? Did they keep revising the design or did they stay relatilvely the same over the 15 years?

I imagine they stay the same.

In India it's like that, you see brand new cars and they're like crappy carb pieces of shit (not saying that all carbed cars are crappy)

By staying the same, they get cheap parts and cheap manufacturing.

Please find in the next few posts pictures of this very same AE92 Hatchback [2007 Model].

Yes the design was changed slightly as such.

Let the pictures do the talking.

That looks different, are those lights factory or after market?

Looks a bit more family car at the front.

Surely you could chuck an ae92 kit on it, and chuck a 4age in it?

Hi Mate

Yes , most AE92 kits fit well on this car.

Yes , guys have fitted the following engines into this very same type AE92 :

-3SGTE
-Blacktop 20 valve Normally Aspirated
-Blacktop 20 valve Turbo Charged
-4AFE and 1300 2E

One guy has run in the very same bodied car a 13.6 second quarter mile with a normally aspirated Blacktop 20 valve.

The lights at the back are OEM from Toyota South Africa and not aftermarket.

Do you want to see a good picture of the Tail-lights mate ?

Why would someone transplant a 2e or 4afe into one?
What does it have from factory?

I imagine a 3sgte would have taken a lot of custom fabrication.

Why do you so strongly want a 2 door?

Probably the same reason most people want 2 doors, they look heaps cooler.

Hi

Sorry , What I mean't to say was the :

4AFE , 2E and 4AGE Series 2 and 3 came out from the factory with these engines.

The blacktop 20 valve and 3SGTE are conversions.

I really want to own something that no one has this side and i have owned mostly 2 door cars all my life so I love two doors.

I like being unique and i guess thats the way most car fanatics like to be right ?

Well my AE92 below has lots of different aesthetic bits from BMW , ALFA ROMEO , AUDI , HONDA PRELUDE etc.

I modify and fit these parts on my car.

See , I am unique..hahaha !
