you could try searching for platz and yaris too if interested in that size.

and if performance is your thing, there is the odd turbo and supercharged ones too :)

1 litre nissan marches go surprisingly well, i drove a CVT one the other day done like 40,000 k was actually quite cool to drive (apart from the fact you know you look like a tool in one) it was the older shape and the cvt was set up real well, felt like a manual off the line. and im a major hater of CVT's hahah
EP82 GT-went mega hard for completely stock, 15.09 quarter, gone now :(

Theres a 1.0 turbo one at Carbase in Dunedin... it's ok, but struggles to go much over 110(gearing)... gets there pretty quick though.

The RunX/Allex Z or RS180 are really nice, and pretty good on gas too.

dont get a vitz. dont get a runx. dont get a echo. dont get a Allex. and finally dont get a nissan march (what kind of name is that anyway)

GET a TOYOTA COROLLA

Get a nice 1986 Toyota Corolla Levin GT Apex.

you will live till 200 years old and have eternal happiness forever.

I promise.

nissan march goes well for a 1.0 auto tho for the missus have done pretty good milage on open road but city driving with the auto can be not so good. looks wise spend a bit more and get the Vitz Rs .
For price reference we payed 9 ish for a 2001 March with 19000kms and its just like brand new.
