Now I don't no what to make of all this but they could be just crying over spilt milk cause the A**E is getting handed to them by a car 1/4 of the price of alot of the more expensive Porsches.

New production car Ring records:
Maserati MC 12 7.24.2
Zonda F 7.24.6
Ferrari Enzo 7.25.4
Porsche Carrera GT 7.28.2
Koienigsegg 7.33
He believes the time achieved by Nissan with ex-Formula One driver Toshio Suzuki would only be possible with a semi-slick race-style tyre
The laps were not run by Porsche's usual hot-lap specialist, former world rally champion and race winner Walter Rohrl, but one of the company's chassis development engineers who is an expert on the Nurburgring.

Actually I believe it was slightly damp when they set that time.
I'm sure if Nissan put one of their engineers into a Carrera GT they wouldn't get a 7.28
Of real interest is that Toyota have their sites set on the top of that list for the FT-HS

Hmm... Ex-Formula One driver Vs Chassis Engineer... How could those times possibly be so far apart without the aid of semi-slicks?

a corvette.
Timmo wrote:Heck im sure even if the driver that set the record, on the same day, in the same car went and did more laps they might be 5-10 seconds off.....The time that it achieved was the absolute best it could manage in near perfect conditions with a driver that knew the car and track intimately. I'm pretty sure he couldnt just jump in a Porsche and get the times they have either.
Meanwhile....initial reports of the V-Spec (or Spec-V or whatever it ends up being called) say it is lapping at 7.25!.....take that with a large grain of salt since that report isnt substantiated (i.e. probably just a guy with a stopwatch) but it will interesting to see how much faster it goes: Less weight, more power....I think I just blew my load.

and certainly isnt some computer game on wheels....
it would be interesting to know exactly what tyres everyone ran on their respective laps.
