Next time scream in agony and fake an injury, then the police have to get involved, notifiable accident, and he would've got a ticket.

The whole incident has been a nightmare. I thought long and hard before buying a car. Took it for one test drive and fell in love with it. I have been saving up for a race clutch and was thinking of starting to race my car.

Now, as the innocent party, after the stress months later still not having my car repaired I realise even though you may see carbon copies of your car around on the roads, parts aren't easily replaceable it has made me such a nana on the road.

I just wish that guy could see that a car sport enthusiest isn't so enthusiastic anymore.

As bad as the situation is you have to look at the bigger picture. Stay enthusiastic about your passion, letting one drop kick ruin that is not a good thing.

My mum got shunted by a truck/trailor unit years ago, and was imformed the person that did it was a gang member and the hassle that may come from pressing charges would not have been worth the trouble.

As much as I think the situation sucks you have to move on and get back into it :)

Hmm, I lost my first car to red light runner, got "little bit" angry and punched that moron in the head.
If I did not punch, I would not lose a lot of time going through court, and about $3000 worth of lawyer fees and "reparations". Don't forget stress.

Car was completely destroyed. There was nothing left from strut tower to the bumper. It was moved across the 3 lanes and ended up blocking on coming traffic.

That person not only ran the light but also sped (doing about hundy in 50k zone). Who suffered the most? I did. Headache from punch lasted only a week or so, I guess, I struggled about 3 months to get things sorted. Then I had to go and look for a new car.

Purposely run the red light, instant loss of licence in my opinion is best way to punish red light runners.

As hitting people, it is not worth it in NZ. If you are in russia, well that is the best way to sort out problems, correction, AK47 is the best way.

Judging from stories on TS - red light runners getting away due to sloppy police, people unable to get to their belongings because some rampant apes that are worthless shit bags, and cops are not doing anything, helen posing every where she can (I am sick of her ugly smile), government manages to loose a few billion dollars somewhere, while every 1k there is a motorway patrol car, it looks like NZ is sliding down hill :(.
